On 8 December 2022, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, inaugurated the second edition of Sharjah Events Festival, organized by the “Sharjah Events” website of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, with the motto “#SeeSharjah,” at Al Majaz Amphitheater, from 8 -11 December
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the festival, which hosts 32 governmental and private institutions in Sharjah, participating in a variety of activities attracting both children and adults. He then went on to see the pavilions that highlight the tourism potential and enable visitors to have interactive adventure experiences.
During his tour, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated a simulation laboratory for people with learning difficulties, launched by the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, a step taken to employ innovation and digital transformation tools to support people with learning difficulties and their families. The laboratory is characterized by its ability to move around the country and presents, through virtual reality and three-dimensional technologies, six experiences that simulate the reality of students with learning difficulties; it also highlights the center’s initiatives, projects, and services meant to help people with learning difficulties.
The Sharjah Events Festival is intended to invite government and private institutions in Sharjah to present various activities to the public. Their participation adds value for the entities to showcase their activities and open doors for cooperation among them. It reflects Sharjah’s civilized image and enhances its position as a tourism destination. It provides an opportunity for society members to spend joyful moments in the festival, in addition to introducing the Sharjah Events website, which is the number one source for all events that take place in Sharjah.
The festival includes a number of recreational areas, such as the amazing science laboratory, the main theater, musical swings, the candy castle, workshops for children and the gift box. These areas offer many activities, including light shows, magic games, virtual reality events, police dog show and other various activities.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed honored the participating parties in the festival and took memorial photos with them..
