Attracting over 22 participants over 10 days

The Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) successfully concluded its winter programme, held from December 22 to 31 under the theme “Together We Learn.” The programme attracted more than 22 participants and offered a diverse range of educational activities and practical workshops aimed at developing the thinking skills of individuals with learning difficulties and fostering their integration into society.
Led by a team of specialized trainers, the winter programme featured innovative activities that focused on enhancing participants’ logical, creative, and innovative thinking skills. Supported by Sharjah Safari and the Sharjah Museums Authority, the programme included outdoor activities, recreational trips, and various workshops. A highlight was a visit to Sharjah Safari, where participants engaged with diverse natural environments, enriching their experience.
Enhancing executive and social skills
The programme also included training workshops designed to enhance executive and social skills, such as flexibility, sustained attention, and working memory, while improving participants’ planning and organizational abilities. Specialized workshops included “Arts of Response,” a session on drawing and animating characters, and an introduction to the basics of sign language.
Innovative Educational Environment
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, reaffirmed the center’s commitment to its strategic vision of empowering individuals with learning difficulties by providing an innovative, interactive educational environment. She noted that this year’s winter programme emphasized stimulating creative thinking and skill development, aligning with global best practices in supporting individuals with learning difficulties and integrating them into society.
Dr. Al Suwaidi highlighted the center’s dedication to offering innovative educational solutions tailored to the needs of individuals with learning difficulties, encouraging them to explore their potential. The programme integrated technical aspects with hands-on activities to develop cognitive and social skills, preparing participants for an increasingly digital and innovative future. Dr. Al Suwaidi expressed gratitude to Sharjah Safari and the Sharjah Museums Authority for their contributions to the programmes success, as well as to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) for their ongoing support of the center’s initiatives.
SCLD annually organizes a wide array of activities, events, and innovative programmes designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals with learning difficulties. These initiatives aim to provide comprehensive care, meet participants’ needs, foster their ambitions, and develop their cognitive and creative skills. Additionally, the centre promotes awareness and scientific understanding of learning difficulties and offers integrated services to individuals, their families, and the wider community.
